Shirley Fife is an emerging Edinburgh based artist who starts by going for a walk, often by the sea, immerses self in place & is acutely aware of her surroundings.

Drawn to things that are often overlooked; the discarded abandoned objects, floating pieces of seaweed.

Inspired by Wabi Sabi  ‘a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, incomplete, modest, humble & unconventional’ — Leonard Koren.

Embraces the challenge of using natural & found objects to create with, applying a light touch, extending the life cycle, allowing the material to tell their story.

Comoleted year long CAP Course, Leith School Art June 2924, looking forward to see where my artistic journey will take me. Currnely  enjoying exploring  artistic approaches: ephemeral, readymade & land art.
