Weaving with Kelp

Using sustainably collected kelp blades, transforming ocean treasures into stunning artworks. This project involves careful washing, drying,/preserving, shaping, & arrangement to highlight the natural beauty and textures of the kelp.
Material led process, experimenting with different preservation techniques and artistic presentations to create lasting and impactful pieces.

Now to wait until dry & assesss next steps.

Blown away by the range of colours of homemade inks & watercolour paints.
Created using petals, vegetables, rocks & shells.
Paper towels used to clean up during the making process, were coated with left over candle wax. to create a selection of encaustic pieces.

“Deadhead” Project

Over the summer a neighbour shared her deadheaded flowers with me, the challenge was to use to pin as many ways as possible. To date have made natural inks & watercolour paints, Cyanotype prints, cards & tote bags, ink prints & EcoPrint scrolls.
